Jonas Taiga Axe
Proven by Siberian fur trappers, Evenki reindeer-herding nomads and Jordan's own years in the taiga. Hand-forged in North America, and made to be handed down for generations.
No other axe I'd rather have.
"With a design that has been proven effective by Siberian fur trappers, Evenki reindeer herding nomads, and my own experience there is no other axe I'd rather have. My decades of experience has enabled me to meticulously design the perfect axe: one that takes Slavic head design, Evenki modifications, my own personal tweaks, and North American hand forged quality and combines it into an unbeatable forest tool. This is a high quality, hand forged axe that is meant to be used heavily and handed down for generations, a tool you can be proud of."
"I have designed 2 versions: a larger Moose, which is ideal for those who live in the outdoors, depend on an axe regularly, and need a serious tool for serious jobs. The other is the Wolverine. Lighter, more packable, and yet able to outperform its size just like the animal itself. These are the axes to own."

A true universal forest tool.
"The design of this axe is inspired by the Evenki people who live every day in the Taiga (Northern forests of Siberia). In being outdoors constantly, few people use axes as much as they do. From building 30+ kilometer fences using only axes, to constantly preparing poles for tipis, bushcrafting, and other vital tasks, no other people know more what an axe needs to be a true universal forest tool."
"Every feature and design element of this axe has been thought through and executed to perfection in a way only possible when each axe is carefully handcrafted with pride. For that reason, not only do I have my own stamp on the blade, but also the mark of Broad River Forge, the only forge I found that could meet my expectations and vision. I also have my signature etched into the sheath indicating that I am willing to put my name on this axe."
These axes are built for the softwoods and conifers of the Western US and northern forests. Working mostly in hardwoods? Ask for a custom edge made to hold up against hard oak knots.

Single bevel, built for you.
The Evenki live and work with axes every day, and they settled this long ago: the single bevel beats the standard double bevel in almost every way.
Just as a rifle is fitted to the shooter, a tool as vital as an axe should be fitted to the hand that swings it. Every Taiga axe is ground right-handed, left-handed or center, your choice.
- Cuts faster. The flat face drives straight into the wood while the bevel pops the chip free, so every swing clears more wood.
- Less deflection. With only one side wedging the cut, the bit tracks where you aim instead of glancing off.
- Planes and crafts like a chisel. Lay the flat face against the work to shave, notch and hew with control a double bevel can't match.
- Easier to sharpen. One bevel to hold an angle on, and the flat back just needs a pass to clear the burr. Quick work with a pocket stone in the field.
It takes a little practice to make the most of it. Try it for yourself, and you won't settle for a one-size-fits-all tool again.

What they say.
"This axe handles absolutely everything that I've put it through in the woods. Perfect for a lifelong, hardened outdoorsman!"
"Amazing design on your part and Brad truly knows his forging. I did collegiate timbersports in university and got to swing some really impressive racing axes. This is equivalent quality and performance in a wilderness axe!"
